In the fall of 2009 Portland Monthly's wine columnist Condé Cox gave Archery Summit's Red Hills Estate 2006 Pinot Noir first place on his list of Oregon's fifty best wines. This composition attempts to capture the power and beauty of this Pinot Noir, which Cox describes as a wine that embodies the phrase “a steel fist in a velvet glove.”
